Raffles opens its first local medical center

RESIDENTS in Shanghai who seek high-quality medical services will be glad to know that a private Singapore medical group launched its first international-standard medical center in the city last month.

Raffles Medical Group (RMG), a renowned health care group with a network of 74 clinics in Singapore and Hong Kong, opened the facility in the Innov Tower at the business park along Hongmei Road.

The new clinic, Raffles Medical Shanghai, provides comprehensive high-quality and dependable medical care with multinational and multilingual doctors and health care professionals.

The clinic offers a comprehensive range of services ranging from general medical and dental services to health screening.

"China's economic growth has cultivated a pool of Chinese who can afford high-quality medical care of international standards," says Yong Yih Ming, director of operations at Raffles Medical Shanghai.

In addition, there is a large pool of expatriates and corporate clients who have moved to Shanghai for work and they seek high-quality medical care similar to what they have in their home countries.

"We have more than 30 years of experience in providing integrated care. From primary to specialist to tertiary health care, we offer a complete continuum of health care services, covering even health insurance and health supplements," says Yong.

RMG started in 1976 as a two-clinic practice under its founders, Dr Loo Choon Yong and Dr Alfred Loh, who left the public health service with a vision of providing personalized care to every patient. Today RMG is the largest private group practice in Singapore with branches in Hong Kong and liaison offices in Indonesia, Bangladesh, Russia, Brunei and Vietnam.

Every year, it serves more than 1 million patients, including around 5,500 corporate clients. Around one-third of the group's patients are international patients from more than 100 countries and regions.

Raffles Medical Shanghai is the ideal clinic for patients seeking quality health care. These include individuals, corporate clients and their families from both the expatriate and the local community.

Together with Raffles Hospital in Singapore, the center offers state-of-the-art medical services and professional medical and surgical expertise.

RMG has 200 full-time physicians, offering a comprehensive range of services including general medical, dental, aesthetics and anti-aging, traditional Chinese medicine and health screening.
