Rare blood woes

THE Shanghai Blood Administration Office said it has recruited some 60 volunteers with rare RH negative blood in the city to overcome emergency blood shortage, under a program to collect rare-blood volunteers. A pregnant woman with RH negative AB blood suffered blood hemorrhage during child delivery yesterday. Her husband called for help through his weibo. The Shanghai Blood Center offered 2 liters of blood for the woman, who survived and delivered a pair of twins. The center is calling for blood donation after using up almost all its stored rare blood.
