A MAN weighing more than 200 kilograms was discharged from Zhongshan Hospital yesterday after receiving surgery to remove part of his stomach. The patient, 33-year-old Hu Wenyao, also underwent a gastric bypass. Both procedures are designed to help obese people lose weight by limiting the amount of food their stomachs can handle, doctors said.
