Surgeons remove knife from robbery victim – 4 months after stabbing

A YOUNG woman stabbed during a robbery in May has finally had a piece of the knife surgically removed from her groin, Oriental Morning Post reported today.

Shen Ping only discovered recently that part of the weapon was still inside her when doctors at a city hospital gave her an ultrasound scan. That revealed a blade 15 centimeters long and 3cm wide protruding into her pelvic cavity, the report said.

Doctors had previously put her pain down to a bladder infection. Shen was stabbed in the hip on May 6 in Jiangsu Province. Although the knife broke into two during the attack, doctors in a nearby health center didn't find the broken blade, the report said.

Doctor's at Anting Hospital in Jiading District removed the blade the day before yesterday.
