Tenfold grape yields

A NEW technology developed by Jiao Tong University is expected to see grape vines produce 10 times the yield of fruit than before, according to researchers. Xu Wenping, an agricultural professor at the university, and his team have introduced the technology at a vineyard in Malu Town, Jiading District. The main feature of the technique is to restrict the roots of vines within a certain area to control water and fertilizer levels. Malu Town is the most famous place for producing high-quality grape in Shanghai.
