10 sent to hospital after baby stroller stuck at top of Metro escalator causes riders to fall
AT least 10 people in Shanghai were rushed to a hospital, including a toddler, after they fell on an escalator at People’s Square Station this morning.
A baby stroller that became stuck at the top of the escalator caused the accident about 10am. It was unclear whether the stroller was carrying a child at the time.
At least 10 were rushed to a hospital for treatment, including a 2-year-old boy, although none of the victims was seriously injured, local media reports said.
Photos posted online by witnesses showed one victim had cuts and bruises on her toes. Another woman sustained a bruised arm with some gouge marks on it.
The victims were on the middle section of the escalator and bumped into the person whose stroller became stuck. The incident occurred on an escalator ascending from the Line 1 platform.
