3 swimming pools fail water quality tests

THREE swimming pools were found to have water quality that failed tests and four pools were punished for not following regulations, the Shanghai Health Supervision Agency said today.

The agency had conducted checks on 138 swimming pools since June 20, when all local swimming pools had opened for summer.

The four swimming pools being fined for not carrying out tests as required were the swimming pools at Changyuan residential complex, Jiali Development Co, Shanghai Mingyuan Holiday Village Co and Shanghai Lizhou Leisure Club Co.

The three swimming pools failing to pass water quality tests are Weikang Health Management Consultation Co on Dongzhuanbang Road, Shanghai Nanjiao Hotel on Wangyuan Road in Fengxian District and Shanghai Mingyuan Holiday Village Co on Huifeng Road N. in Fengxian District.

The agency said people can report violations and poor management of swimming pools by calling its hotline, 962223.
