Airlines to lift service, communications
ELEVEN Chinese airline companies servicing Shanghai's two international airports today begin a program to fast-track procedures for domestic passengers.
Boarding and luggage claims would both be quicker, they said.
The companies participating in the program for Pudong and Hongqiao airports include China Eastern Airlines and Air China's Shanghai branch.
They promised first-class passengers would wait less than five minutes for boarding procedures, business-class passengers less than seven minutes, and economy-class passengers less than 20 minutes.
When flights are delayed, airline companies in the initiative will update passengers with information every 30 minutes.
A survey carried out by the Shanghai Industrial and Commercial Administrative Bureau showed that communication between airline companies and passengers left a lot to be desired.
