Basketball stadium to be worthy of the NBA

BAOSHAN District is building Chinese mainland's second NBA-standard basketball court, due to be completed in October next year.
The Baoshan Sports Center will be at 700 Yongqing Road, where the Baochen Stadium was located.
The 450-million-yuan (US$66 million) center occupies an area of 1 million square meters. All the facilities in the main stadium will meet NBA standards, such as the flooring, lights, the numbers of cameras and the display screens for the crowd.
"Those alone are not enough to make the center professional," said Baoshan Sports Bureau Director Liu Ming. "It is more than just a stadium."
There will be snack vendors, coffee shops, bars and even a high-definition theater, which will make the center the finest in the country.
"People will not just come here to watch games," Liu told Shanghai Daily. "Basketball fans can spend a whole day here having fun."
The sports center will hold about 150 events every year, including CBA games, international championships, concerts and indoor X-Game competitions, the bureau said.
