Bicyclists, cars struck in joyride

A 13-YEAR-OLD boy who took his father's minibus for a short joyride hit two parked cars and a woman and a teenager on bicycles.

The injured, a middle-aged woman and a 15-year-old boy, had bruises but weren't seriously hurt.

The incident happened about 11am on Guohe Road near Baotou Road, Yangpu District. The boy was on the white Jinbei minibus with his father and grandfather. His father, a deliveryman, pulled the vehicle over and got off to take the cargo, but did not turn off the engine. Police were investigating.

The boy put the minibus in gear, hitting a black Chevrolet Cruze and the two bicyclists. The minibus scratched a silver Toyota Rav4 and was stopped by a power pole.

The boy drove at least 50 meters, witnesses said.
