THE official English version of a hotel-booking Website for Expo visitors opened yesterday at http://hotels.expotia.com.
People can also dial 400-821-2010 to book rooms. English service is available.
The average price of budget hotels is 322 yuan (US$47) per night. A room at five-star hotels averages 1,505 yuan per night.
Budget hotels are in short supply now with occupancy rates at nearly 100 percent citywide. Most five- and four-star hotels also have no vacancies apart from those far from the Expo site, said Zhang Dian, president of Hubs1, official booking service provider for the Expo.
Expo visitors have been advised to choose hotels in neighboring cities as they are cheaper and have more rooms available. Hotels in Suzhou, Taicang and Kunshan in Jiangsu Province, and Jiashan in Zhejiang Province, are good options.
