Brace yourself for a cold wave
RESIDENTS are warned to brace for a week-long cold wave and the weather bureau issued a blue alert yesterday afternoon, saying the mercury will plummet by 8 to 10 degrees Celsius within 48 hours as a cold front comes in from the north.
Today is forecast to be overcast and cloudy, with the temperature ranging between 4 and 6 degrees.
Tomorrow will be even colder, with the low hitting 1 degree downtown and below zero in the suburbs.
There will be thin ice on roads and possible sleet in coastal ares. The mercury will climb from Thursday, hitting a high of 10 degrees on Friday. No haze is expected this week.
