Bullet trains delayed

MORE than two dozen bullet train services along the Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway suffered delays yesterday after equipment broke down along the route, the Shanghai Railway Bureau said.

Twenty-eight trains were delayed at least 30 minutes along the line by yesterday afternoon. The delays ranged from 30 minutes to 113 minutes, the bureau said.

The bureau said on its website that the equipment glitch was found in the afternoon along the track between Changzhou Station and Wuxi Station.

The problem was fixed by 3:35pm, the operator said. It did not say what caused the breakdown.
