Buses busy as holiday nears end
SHANGHAI'S long distance bus stations will be busy from today as the National Day holiday nears its end.
The city's Long Distance Central Bus Station estimates a daily throughput of 60,000 to 70,000 travelers today and tomorrow.
China Mobile and China Unicom Shanghai said that more than 829,800 cell phones from outside Shanghai had been brought into the city yesterday, almost 3 percent more than the same day last year.
And more than 96,900 vehicles came into the city via highways yesterday, up by more than 8 percent, said the Shanghai Tourism Administration.
Some local scenic spots reported an increase in visitors but some had a decrease.
Century Park in Pudong and the Langxia Modern Agriculture Garden in Jinshan District had more visitors, while Shanghai Wildlife Park and the Oriental Pearl TV Tower were quieter.
