Chilly start to 2015

STRONG winds helped clear the air yesterday, but the accompanying cold front means a chilly start to 2015.

Today’s temperatures will range between zero and 4 degrees Celsius, forecasters said yesterday.

The mercury is set to fall further tomorrow, with a low of minus 1 expected in downtown areas, and between minus 3 and minus 5 in the suburbs. The high is unlikely to pass 8 degrees.

Forecasters warned of possible ice on roads.

The weekend will be warmer with lows of 3-6 degrees and highs of 11-15.
