City To Keep Its Cool
THE cool weather is set to continue, as a cold air mass, which came from the north several days ago, will not move until next Wednesday, the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said yesterday.
Showers will return next week and temperatures will remain pleasant with highs around 30 to 32 degrees Celsius. Rain is expected today, Monday and Wednesday.
"The cold air above is not stable and the sub-tropical pressure is not as high as two weeks ago," said Chen Min, chief service officer of the bureau, explaining the cool summer.
"We found a potential typhoon near the Philippines, which will probably cool Shanghai once it forms," Chen said.
