City temperature slips slightly
TODAY'S temperature is expected to hover between 28 and 35 degrees Celsius with thunderstorms in some areas, the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said.
Yesterday the temperature reached 37.4 degrees Celsius, the highest of the year in the city.
Forecasters said the plum rain season ended on Wednesday and the rain belt that hovered above the city during the plum rains has moved to Huaihe Valley in neighboring Anhui and Jiangsu provinces as a subtropical high strengthens.
