City warned of foggy weather
THE Shanghai Meteorological Bureau issued a yellow fog alert at 6am this morning as visibility dropped to less than 1,000 meters in many districts and below 500 meters in suburban Fengxian District.
Yellow is the third of a four-level warning system, after red and orange and above blue.
Local weathermen forecast dense fog in the southern part of Shanghai due to high humidity in the air and weak winds. They attributed the foggy weather to heavy rains yesterday and rising temperatures today.
Today's highest temperature will be around 24 degrees Celsius and intermittent drizzles are expected.
