Clean cars rise
SHANGHAI will have about 20,000 renewable-energy-powered cars by 2012, the city's Vice Mayor Ai Baojun told the Eighth China Automotive Industry Forum held by the China Europe International Business School.
The city will also set up a model development to demonstrate the use of new-energy vehicles in Jiading District. China offers rewards of up to 60,000 yuan for buyers of electric cars and 50,000 yuan for those who buy plug-in hybrid cars.
