Clone detention

THE driver of a "cloned" taxi has been detained for 15 days, in the first case in Shanghai since a new law with tougher penalties came into force this month. Shi Jianrong was seized in a crackdown on May 13. He was detained in Yangpu District after his vehicle aroused suspicion. A cloned taxi is a vehicle that is made to look like an official taxi but is unlicensed.
