Clouds may hide the moon but rains to go

WEATHER forecasters are predicting a dry and cloudy Mid-Autumn Festival on Sunday with the current rainy conditions likely to ease by Saturday.

Residents will be able to venture outdoors to enjoy the full moon without having to worry about the weather but clouds may dampen the festivity.

The Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said due to the influence of the upper trough, clouds are increasing and will trigger some intensive showers on Wednesday morning. But the skies will clear up at noon and the cloudy weather is expected to remain until Thursday.

However the city will see drizzles again between late Thursday and early Saturday.

It will dry out on Saturday night and start to warm on Sunday.

The mercury is tending to show a downward trend through Saturday due to cool weather brought by the rains. The high will range from 26 to 27 degrees Celsius between Wednesday and Friday and slip to 25 degrees on Saturday. On Sunday, it will bounce back to 27 degrees.
