Cloudy skies, drizzles on weather menu

SHANGHAI can expect cloudy weather with some drizzles this week in contrast to last week when the sky was sunny and clear, the city's weather authority said.

With the passing of a recent cold front, temperatures bounced back over the weekend, touching a high of 26 degrees Celsius yesterday, providing a surprise feel of summer.

But due to the warm and wet air from the southwest, the city should experience drizzles today. A weak cold front should influence the city overnight and the temperatures this week should not be as high as the weekend, according to the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau.

"Under the influence of the cold front's expansion, the sky should turn overcast and cloudy from Monday," Man Liping, a chief service officer of the bureau, said yesterday.

The weather this week should be mostly cloudy and overcast with drizzles. Readings should be stable from today, with a high of around 23 degrees and a low of between 16 and 19 degrees, the bureau said.

Today will be overcast with some drizzles and the mercury should range between 20 and 23 degrees.
