Cold front to bring out shivers
Shanghai’s temperature will drop to a low of 9 degrees on Monday due to a cold front, which will end the sunny and warm weather over the weekend.
The cold front from the north will hit the city from tomorrow, bringing a light drizzle. The lowest temperature will drop below 10 degrees Celsius tomorrow, the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said.
Today’s high will rise to 20 degrees Celsius, the highest of the week, from yesterday’s 19 degrees, and a sunny and overcast sky is expected, while the low will be 13 degrees.
Yesterday was xiao xue, or light snow, on the lunar calendar. This is the time when many Chinese families start to make preserved ham and pork sausage as the weather turns cold and dry.
