Cold front will bring light rain

A COLD front and drizzles will hit Shanghai today and will cause the high to dip just below 10 degrees Celsius, forecasters said.

More smog is also expected this morning due to the city’s poor weather condition that will do little to disperse pollutants.

The mercury is set to bounce back into the low teens tomorrow. Early next week, Shanghai will see high pressure and clear skies as the temperatures will be slightly warmer than during the weekend. Still, forecasters said the wet weather is going to make a comeback around Wednesday, with the arrival of a low-pressure area to bring along some rain.

Weather enthusiasts have for weeks talked about the arrival of the meteorological winter, which the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau says starts on the first day of five consecutive days with average temperatures below 10 degrees. If the low temperatures continue until Tuesday, winter will have arrived in the city, the bureau said.
