Coping with ‘festival rush’
Two Metro trains are being dispatched one after the other for the first morning services at Shanghai Railway Station and Shanghai South Railway Station.
This will help passenger flow during the peak travel rush back to Shanghai as the Spring Festival holiday draws to a close, the Metro operator said yesterday.
And 29 “festival rush” bus services connecting airports, railway stations and ports with Metro stations have been launched.
Meanwhile, local road transport authorities said they expect a peak in the number of motorists returning to Shanghai today and tomorrow — the end of the week-long holiday. They said that between 3pm to 6pm will be busiest on expressways.
