Dazhong unit to sue website
SHANGHAI Dazhong Logistics Co is suing a leading classified website sh.ganji.com for posting fake Dazhong hotlines that actually belong to unlicensed logistics companies, the company said yesterday.
This lawsuit has been filed at the Xuhui District People’s Court.
According to Dazhong, local consumers rights and interests protection commission received 17 complaints against the company. All of them turned out to be unlicensed firms that used Dazhong’s name.
The companies copied Dazhong’s trademark, website design and even the recorded voice service in their calls. They lured customers by offering them cheaper fares but blackmailed the customers while moving, with some even threatening to drop the packages in the middle of the journey.
After investigation, Dazhong found several websites such as sh.ganji.com, www.baixing.com and www.baidu.com carried illegal companies’ posts.
Since sh.ganji.com had the maximum number of such posts, it sent a letter to the website on January 28 this year and demanded that it delete all the links to the knockoff companies.
Although the website acted on it and deleted some of the links, the postings reappeared again. It was then that Dazhong decided to sue the website, a Dazhong lawyer, surnamed Zhu, said.
The house mover advised customers who need its services to call its own hotline 96811 or go to the official websites www.96811.com.
