Defunct Metro card machines drive passengers nuts
Shanghai Metro operator said it was still in talks with equipment providers about fixing automatic refill machines for transport cards after passengers complained that many machines could not be used.
In some stations, nearly 90 percent of machines have been out of service. Passengers have to line up for manual service instead.
The situation is even worse at some newly opened stations with brand-new machines.
Some machines break down due to lack of maintenance, said the operator.
