Dry days ahead, for now at least
A WARM, dry spell is on the cards for the rest of the week as the rains take a back seat, at least until Sunday, forecasters said yesterday.
After rising to 32 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, the mercury slumped to a relatively cool 26 degrees yesterday.
And just to keep everyone guessing, today’s high is predicted to be right in the middle, at 29 degrees.
Today’s skies should be clear, before turning cloudy tomorrow and on Saturday. All three days will be mostly dry, though some showers are likely.
The weekend will be cooler, with highs of 26 degrees, while the heavy rains are set to return on Sunday.
Despite the downpours, the plum rain season is nearing its end and could be gone completely by July 10. After that, things are likely to get considerably hotter, forecasters said.
