Dry days to remain until Friday

CLOUDY and sunny weather will return this week with a slight rise in the mercury, forecasters said yesterday.

The temperature is expected to climb to a high of 28 degrees Celsius and the low should range between 18 and 21 degrees, according to the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau.

Cloudy weather will dominate the sky in the first half of this week under the control of a weak upper air current to the northwest, but it would be good to keep an umbrella handy again starting on Friday, meteorologists said.

Today should be partly cloudy, with a high of 28 degrees and a low of 18 degrees. Tomorrow is forecast to be cloudy to overcast, with the temperature ranging between 20 and 28 degrees. Wednesday and Thursday are both expected to be cloudy to overcast, with a high of 28 degrees and a low of 21 degrees.

On Friday, showers are predicted, and the mercury should range from 22 degrees to 27 degrees.

Residents should note big temperature differences from day to night.
