Exhibitions blossom in the spring
A SPRING flower exhibition opens tomorrow at the Shanghai Botanical Garden until May 10.
There will be more than 3,000 species of flowers with the theme of welcoming the 2010 World Expo. Five large-sized scenic areas will delight visitors.
Most of them focus on the Expo, such as "The Home of Haibao," and "The Volunteers' Action." These gardens will be relocated to downtown areas in May, officials said yesterday.
The exhibition will also display new techniques to cultivate greenery without soil, techniques expected to play an important role in city displays during the Expo.
Other parks including the Guyi Garden in Jiading District are also holding exhibitions. The Guyi Garden will feature a 100-year-old peony.
