Air China canceled two flights between Shanghai and Beijing today due to a thunderstorm forecast over Beijing.

The Shanghai Sightseeing Bus Center is canceling several excursions to scenic spots in Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces today to ensure tourists’ safety.

They include trips to Ningbo, Taizhou, Zhexi Grand Canyon and a river rafting activity in Hangzhou.

The typhoon is expected to hit Fujian this afternoon or tonight, bringing with it high winds and heavy rain which will extend to some areas of Zhejiang, its neighbor on the north.

The typhoon has already had an effect on Shanghai, with temperatures dropping to a maximum of 33.9 degrees Celsius recorded yesterday at the Xujiahui weather station and rainfall in some parts of the city.
