Fog puts air and ship schedules in disarray
HEAVY fog closed the city's Pudong International Airport and its Waigaoqiao Port this morning, Shanghai transport officials said.
Fifteen flights were canceled and more than 120 flights were delayed when the Pudong airport was shrouded in fog.
Seventeen flights had to land at the city's western Hongqiao airport before traffic at the Pudong airport resumed by noon, officials said.
The fog also shut down the Pudong Waigaoqiao Port, a major harbor for international ships since yesterday. The situation didn't improve today, officials said.
Loading operation was hampered by low invisibility at the port, they added.
