Forecast is showers, of meteors too

RAIN and low temperatures are forecast until Tuesday when the heat should return with highs above 30 degrees Celsius, Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said yesterday.

Today will see cloudy conditions and drizzle and there will be showers tomorrow.

Monday and Tuesday will have thundery showers, turning to cloudy on Wednesday.

Wednesday's temperatures will rise to 35 degrees with lows of 25.

If the weather clears sufficiently, there are two astronomical events to watch out for.

There will be a partial lunar eclipse tonight. It can be seen from 6:16pm when the moon rises until around 9pm.

The other event to look out for is a meteor shower in the Bootes constellation tomorrow night.

About 100 shooting stars are expected to be seen in an hour during the shower's peak which will begin about 10:30pm.
