Forecast ranges from snowy to tropical
TEMPERATURES will blow cold and hot this week, with cloud forecast for another four days after this morning's light snowfall and rain, weathermen said today.
A strong cold front brought today's sleet and rain, with temperatures tonight set to drop to minus 3 degrees Celsius downtown and minus 5 in the suburbs, according to Shanghai Meteorological Bureau.
However, temperatures will rise rapidly, with a high of about 17 degrees on Friday.
Since February 24, it has rained for 13 days with 122.9 millimeters of rain, more than four times the average for this season.
Hospitals have seen a sharp rise in admissions for cardiovascular and respiratory patients.
