Free Wi-Fi for shoppers on Sichuan Road

Locals can use free Wi-Fi to surf the Internet when they go shopping on Sichuan Road N., Hongkou District officials said today.
HongKouFree has covered the 3.7-kilometer stretch of the Sichuan Road shopping street, they said.
Wi-Fi signal is also available in more than 10 shopping malls along the street, bringing the total area covered HongKouFree to more than 200,000 square meters.
The district has installed 60 wireless hotspots on the street and will launch an app that shows shopping mall promotions, 4,600 parking spaces, and other useful information. People can download the app to their iPads or smartphones.
