Fuel prices drop

IT will now cost about 10 yuan (US$1.5) less to buy a tank of gas, said officials. The ceiling retail price for 92-octane gasoline in Shanghai’s service stations is now 5.71 yuan per liter, down from 5.9 yuan, and 95-octane gasoline has dropped to 6.08 yuan from 6.27 yuan per liter. Zero-grade diesel now sells for 5.3 yuan, down from 5.49 yuan.

The National Development and Reform Commission yesterday announced fuel price cuts across China. Gasoline and diesel prices have been lowered by 220 yuan and 215 yuan per ton respectively.
