SHANGHAI'S gas consumption hit 20.909 million cubic meters on Thursday, which broke the record in the city, officials said yesterday. The city gas company said the consumption of gas had been high due to the cold weather, but that supplies were sufficient. Officials said four vessels of liquefied natural gas will be transported to the city this month to back up supplies.
