Get ready for cloudy, overcast weekend

SHANGHAI weather should remain stable - mostly cloudy and overcast - over the weekend and the following days before the next cold front hits around Wednesday, the weather authority said.

Warm and wet air should strengthen today and tomorrow due to a weakening of the high pressure which had gripped the city, with more clouds on the horizon, the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau predicted. The city should also be a little more humid than previous days.

The maximum temperature in the next few days should be about 24 to 25 degrees Celsius and the low between 18 to 19 degrees.

"The weather is good overall and it should be suitable for outdoor activities," said Fu Yi, a chief service officer of the bureau.

A cold front from the north should influence the city around Wednesday and the wind will become stronger, Fu added.

Today is forecast to be cloudy to overcast, and the mercury is expected to hit a low of 18 degrees and reach a high of 24 degrees. Tomorrow should be overcast to cloudy, with a low of 19 degrees and a high of 25 degrees.
