Giant shopping mall set to open
THE city's biggest shopping mall will be open by the end of the year in the Dapuqiao area in Luwan District.
It will include the Metro Line 9 Dapuqiao Station and all the Metro entrances will be in the mall, Shanghai Evening Post reported today.
The 148,000-square-meter shopping mall will have nine floors, four underground. Many popular brands like H&M, Zara, Starbucks, KFC and McDonalds will probably be found there, said a manager in charge of recruiting investment.
He said the mall will focus on modern and fashionable style, the report said.
A 31-story-office building and two 29-story-service hotels will also be built next to the shopping mall to form a commercial square. Construction will be finished by 2010.
A five-meter bicycle lane will also be built in the square linking Xujiahui Road and Taikang Road.
The square will also have 800 car parking spaces for the shopping mall.
