Here comes the sun ... perhaps
MISSING something in your life? Sunshine, perhaps. The sun has not been seen in the city for 20 days and now the constant rainfall has hit a 136-year record.
The Shanghai Meteorological Bureau says there will be more rain until Thursday when it may get better but there will still be some showers over the weekend.
It will be overcast on Friday and continue cloudy for the weekend with the temperatures from today until Sunday stable at between 4 to 11 degrees Celsius.
The city had 93.7 millimeters of rain from February 21 to 28, a new record for the period, according to records that go back to 1873.
A cold front from the north and a warm current from Bengal Bay have been over the Yangtze River Delta region for more than two weeks, forming a stable rain belt.
