High-speed rail link under test
THE city's second high-speed rail line, to Hangzhou City, is now under test. The 159-kilometer journey will take about 38 minutes with a top speed of 350 kilometers per hour.
The line, with nine stations planned between Shanghai and Zhejiang Province's Hangzhou, is expected to be in use by next month. The city already has a high-speed rail route to neighboring Jiangsu Province's Nanjing City.
