Holiday Disruption

TYPHOON Nesat has wrecked the plans of hundreds of people wanting to get away from Shanghai for the holiday.

Six flights to Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan were canceled yesterday at Hongqiao International Airport, leaving around 650 passengers stranded, and other flights south were delayed.

Bad weather may also cause some rail service cancellations and a reduction in the speed of trains.

Typhoon Nesat has caused extensive damage in the south of the country. It also affected Shanghai, with rain sweeping the city from late yesterday.
