Hot in the city tonight
TODAY will be hot and dry, with a maximum temperature of 30 degrees Celsius, forecasters said yesterday.
Despite the sunshine, the outlook is not great in every respect as the air quality index is likely to reach 143, indicating slight pollution, according to the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau.
Tomorrow will see a return of the heavy rains, with up to 40 millimeters set to fall per hour in some areas, which is bad news for people sitting the national college entrance examination. The annual gaokao test, as it’s known locally, starts tomorrow and ends on Monday.
