Ice seen as city shivers with rain to follow
RESIDENTS will continue to brave the chill and breathe dirty air, forecasters say.
The city had its coldest morning this winter yesterday with the temperature falling to 1.7 degrees Celsius in downtown and below zero degrees in the suburbs.
Chongming, the coldest district, reported minus 0.4 degrees, accompanied by some thin ice on roadsides, according to Shanghai Meteorological Bureau.
Light air pollution is expected today, according to the environmental monitoring center.
The low will remain around 2 degrees until tomorrow, but the high will gradually rise to 12 degrees.
Sunday is forecast to be rainy, but the temperatures will climb, fluctuating between 9 to 17 degrees, according to the bureau.
