Iconic People's Square fountain closed for repairs

THE fountain on People’s Square will be closed for two months for maintenance.

A notice put up at the fountain said it was being temporarily closed to public because of aging equipment, including its pipes, cables and pumps.

It said the old equipment posed a safety threat to visitors, adding that it will undergo It will reopen in September.

Built in 1994, the fountain has become an iconic spot at People’s Square.
