Japan returns 26 Chinese

SHANGHAI port immigration police yesterday said 26 Chinese repatriated from Japan had arrived in Shanghai by passenger liner in the first two months this year.
In a recent case, a 30-year-old Fujian Province native, surnamed Wei, was sent back on February 20. He gave himself up because it had become harder to find work and he was ill. He had been working illegally since 1997.
