Local expressways to be free during festival

SHANGHAI’S expressways will be open to vehicles for free during the Qingming Festival holiday. Vehicles with fewer than seven seats can use the expressways and the Donghai Bridge without paying any toll from 12am today to midnight of Monday. Authorities are predicting peak traffic for today, the first day of the holiday, with the 6am-11am and 2pm-5pm slots being the rush hours.
The G2, G15, G50, G60, G1501 and other highways that link to suburban districts of Qingpu, Jiading, and Songjiang are expected to see huge traffic flow as residents flock to these areas to sweep their ancestors’ tombs.
