Roads in Shanghai are expected to be covered with ice today and tomorrow as the snow and sleet continue, weathermen said.
The Shanghai Meteorological Bureau issued a yellow road icing alert, lightest of the three-level system, at 4pm this afternoon, warning drivers and pedestrians of slippery roads in the next 12 hours.
Heavy snowfall should cease tonight and the city will be dominated by overcast and sleety weather in the next two days, according to the bureau. The temperatures should be stable with a low of zero degree and a high of 3 degrees Celsius.
The sleety weather should last till weekend while the mercury should climb back above zero degree, the bureau said.
