Maglev service breaks down
THE Maglev train to Pudong airport broke down yesterday afternoon, almost exactly one year from its last major interruption in services. It did not resume service for more than an hour, traffic officials said.
The service came to a halt at 2:38pm due to power fault and did not go back into service until about 4pm, officials said. Services in both directions stopped and hundreds of passengers suffered delays - they were soon redirected to other modes of transport, said the Maglev company. On December 31 last year, the maglev also suffered a long delay.
