Major road stabilized for repairs
THE section of the Middle Ring Road that was severely damaged in a traffic accident involving an overloaded truck trailer on Monday morning has been stabilized in preparation for repair work, the Shanghai Road Administration Bureau said yesterday.
A group of experts, some of whom participated in the construction of the road, are working on a plan to repair it.
The columns supporting the section of the road need to be repaired and the bases supporting them will have to be replaced, according to a maintenance report.
Meanwhile, to cope with additional traffic resulting from the accident, Shanghai Metro added eight trains on Line 7 to transport passengers in the direction of Pudong during the morning rush hour yesterday.
